Grand Hotel Mackinac

Located amidst the tranquil landscape of Mackinac Island, the esteemed Grand Hotel continues to redefine luxury hospitality with its latest addition—a private plane tailored to whisk high-end guests directly to the resort.

In recent years, the Grand Hotel has witnessed a notable shift in its guest demographics, with an increasing majority hailing from out of state rather than its home state of Michigan. This trend underscores the hotel's growing appeal beyond regional borders and highlights the need for tailored transportation solutions to accommodate the preferences of its affluent patrons.

The evolution of the Grand Hotel is characterized by a series of milestones that reflect its commitment to excellence. In 1994, the introduction of the Woods nine alongside the original Grand nine culminated in the creation of The Jewel, the hotel's esteemed 18-hole golf course—a testament to its dedication to leisure and recreation.

Continuing its legacy of homage and distinction, 1998 saw the addition of five Named Rooms honoring prominent U.S. first ladies, including Barbara Bush, Lady Bird Johnson, Betty Ford, Rosalynn Carter, and Nancy Reagan. Complementing these additions were the debut of two opulent two-bedroom suites, the Grand and the Carleton Varney, enriching the hotel's accommodation offerings.

The dawn of the new millennium heralded a period of expansion and innovation for the Grand Hotel. In 2000, a state-of-the-art golf pro shop was unveiled, catering to the needs of avid golf enthusiasts. Simultaneously, construction commenced on the Millennium Wing, a monumental project encompassing a 300-seat expansion of the Main Dining Room and the incorporation of 42 luxurious guest rooms—the largest addition in the hotel's history.

The year 2001 witnessed the grand opening of the Millennium Wing, introducing 42 elegantly appointed guest rooms and The Grand Pavilion—a sophisticated 3,600 square-foot enclave designed for exclusive meetings and dining experiences, further enhancing the hotel's allure for corporate gatherings and special events.

In 2004, the Grand Club was established, offering guests an elevated level of personalized service and amenities, cementing the hotel's reputation as a premier destination for discerning travelers seeking unparalleled luxury.

As the Grand Hotel continues to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of its esteemed guests, the year 2009 marked a significant milestone with the acquisition of a private plane. This Piston Twin Turbo Twin Seat 7 aircraft epitomizes the hotel's unwavering commitment to providing unparalleled convenience and exclusivity, allowing high-end patrons to bypass airline schedules and traffic congestion, and arrive directly at the resort in style.

With each new addition and enhancement, the Grand Hotel remains steadfast in its dedication to offering an unparalleled guest experience, where luxury meets timeless elegance amidst the picturesque backdrop of Mackinac Island.
